The Grand: Poker Movie Review

It’s hard to write a review about this one. It is obviously meant as a comedy, but the jokes are very vague. Woody Harrelson plays the main part but there are many other famous actors and poker players in it as well. Like Daniel Negreanu and Doyle Brunson.

The story is about Jack who inherits his father’s casino. He is on the verge of losing the casino because of drug abuse and gambling activities. Through playing a prestigious poker tournament, with a prize pot of 10 million dollars, he is trying to save his casino. The people, who are followed during the movie, will all end up at the final table. They all have their own bizarre story.
 
As far as poker is concerned, there wasn’t much of it in the first hour. The last quarter it became more exciting on this part. Who will ultimately win the game?
 
We can recommend this one, but it might help to watch it without being completely sober. If you know what I mean.
