2-7 Draw Lowball is a poker variant, which is very similar to 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball. Both games are played at the World Series of Poker and are popular among poker pro's like Phil Ivey.
Differences 2-7 Draw Lowball and 2-7 Triple Draw
The differences between 2-7 Draw Lowball and 2-7 Triple Draw are that in 2-7 Draw Lowball there is only one drawing round and that is mostly played in Pot Limit or No Limit, whereas 2-7 Triple Draw is mostly played in Limit.
Lowest Hand wins in 2-7 Draw Lowball
2-7 Draw Lowball is poker variant, in which the player with the lowest hand wins at a showdown. Contrary to Omaha H/L and Razz, flushes and straights do count and an Ace always counts as a high card. The best possible hand in 2-7 Draw Lowball therefore is 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, where the cards cannot be of the same suit (otherwise it is a flush and this does not count as a low combination).
There is 1 drawing round in 2-7 Draw Lowball, in which the players can change from 0 (standing pat) to a maximum of 5 cards.
2-7 Draw Lowball is played with blinds and the action goes as follows:
- 5 Cards are dealt to each player.
- First betting round.
- Draw 1.
- Second betting round.
- Showdown.
Reshuffling the Deck in 2-7 Draw Lowball
It is possible in 2-7 Draw Lowball that the deck of cards runs out. In this case the deck is reshuffled after which play continues.
